In this beginner-friendly interactive workshop, attendees will learn the fundamentals of electronics, empowering them to use microelectronics for their maker or cosplay designs! This workshop focuses on the physics, power & electronics side. How do we connect all these batteries, motors, and boards together??
We will cover:
- the visceral feeling of soldering, or, the core technique that connects wires, sensors, & batteries, and microelectronics together
- wire stripping, or, the work done before gluing parts together
- soldering alternatives
- how to assemble a complete and simple circuit, connecting a power source to an input/output device
All attendees will leave with their own DIY mini robot or custom badge!
This workshop is a companion workshop for the Intro to Programming course but can be done separately depending on the audience.
